Infineon and Arrow Thailand Visit Our R&D Lab

Table of Contents

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming visitors from Infineon and Arrow Thailand to our R&D facility in Chiang Mai. Nathee from Infineon joined us alongside Buncha and Narin from Arrow Thailand for an afternoon at our lab.

Showing Off the Lab

We gave them a full tour of our electronics laboratory — from our automated test bench and power analysis setup to our PCB assembly line with the LumenPnP pick-and-place and Neoden reflow oven. It’s always great to show people what a small, focused R&D team can build when you invest in the right equipment and commit to doing things properly.

Talking GaN and 48V MPPT

The main topic of discussion was our 48V MPPT solar buck converter — a 3-level topology using Infineon’s latest GaN FETs and gate drivers. We walked through our design choices, the challenges of active flying capacitor control, and the efficiency targets we’re pushing for. Since Infineon’s GaN technology is at the heart of our power stage, it was a valuable conversation — getting direct insight from the people who make the silicon we design around.

We also discussed the broader 48VDC ecosystem we’re building and how GaN switching performance is critical for hitting our efficiency and thermal targets in tropical conditions.

What’s Next

We’re looking forward to meeting again — and next time, we’re aiming to have a fully working test setup to demonstrate. The automated efficiency sweep system is already operational, so we’ll be able to show real measured data across the full operating range of the converter.

It’s encouraging to see component manufacturers and distributors taking an interest in what we’re doing here in Chiang Mai. These kinds of relationships are important — not just for sourcing, but for the technical collaboration that makes better products possible.

Thanks to Nathee, Buncha, and Narin for making the trip. Looking forward to the next visit.
